Several years ago it had fish but had a fish kill and now there is nothing in it. The depth varies from 11' down to 4'. The deepest part will cover 40% of the pond, 30% 6' and 30% down to 3'. The pond has a duckweed problem that is very bad. It is used foe cattle watering. The pond is fed from ground water, it is 300 yards from the plate river. Ammonia nitrogen 0.18mg/L. Total dissolved solids 627 mg/L. Dissolved oxygen 6.97 mg/L. Ph was 7.5 but sample was not on ice. What I am planning for short term fix on duck weed is to use pump (400 gal/min) to skim duckweed from pond and trap weed from running back into pond. If you can see picture pond is surrounded by trees. I am going to remove all branches from 10' down to try and get more Air movement.
