Big Buck,

HSB's do get hook shy! I have a hard time catching my 5 pounders now, but when I do it's fricken awesome!!! Once the water temps gets over 80 I would be careful about the big HSB and releasing them. I think if I remember right the late great George said something like over 3 pounds and you may just want to keep them if you don't have a good way to revive them. George was awesome at that tho and could keep some big HSB alive. In cooler water temps tho like 70 or below most will be ok specially the smaller guys. ie: under 3 pounds. Oh and they taste awesome!! I couldn't believe it! I would put them right up there with my top 5 fish in taste.

2. Crappie
3. BG
4. HSB
5. Trout

Just don't fish for them to often and you will be fine.
