Sat quietly on the new dock last night watching the show. Tiny black toad tadpoles everywhere. Northern green frogs mating and croaking away. Newts cruising around underwater. FHM spawning under rocks, the dock floats, steps and the structure I made for them. The surface of the swim pond just solid with FHM, the RBT pond not so much, as expected. I swear the brookies have added twenty percent weight and length in the past few weeks. A pair of mallards pitched in as well as several sets of wood ducks. Barn swallows, mourning doves, gold finch and sand pipers about. Ruffed grouse drumming in the background and turkeys flying up to roost. The RBT gobbled down more food in a few minute frenzy than I ever thought possible, it looks like the pond boils and many airborne in the first minute or two. Mayflies and many other non biting bugs hatching out, drawing in bats as dusk fell. Every quiet period spent sitting by the ponds is a different show. I'm so glad to have these additions to the property in place. The amount and diversity of the wildlife in the mix now certainly has exceeded any expectations I had going in. I drove by many beautiful lakefront homes on the way home. I wouldn't trade the pond setting for any of them. The privacy and peacefulness of the pond is a bit of heaven here on earth.

Yup!

Now a person has to set aside time in this frantic paced world and be sure to enjoy it.

Another common bond of the Pond Boss Family(s)!

And great reminder to take the time to reflect on life, nature and God's creation (some of which many here have helped to assemble).

Very well written Hollywood and thank you!

Nice one, hwd!

I love being at the pond at dusk, watching the purple martins and the bats.
