If you have a cage that is 4' dia x 4' deep, what number of tilapia could be kept in there to get as big as possible till fall. Thinking about starting with a 5" size.
4 X 4 X 4? At that size you could have 500 IMHO. However if your water is warm and you feed them they will grow very fast and be much larger in no time. How long do expect them to be in the cage? There are numbers out there that are quite high for cage rearing but I always er on the conservative side.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

How big will the fish be the week before release? You have to figure fish per cage on the largest size they will be, not the starting size. That is unless you will be sorting for size during their incarceration.....

Yes on the round cage.
I want to raise them till fall time for harvest. I have an abundance of 5" tilapia this year, and I am wanting to experiment and learn on cage raising some fish. In the past, when I release them in the pond in the spring and catch them in the fall, they are about 10". So I am thinking they will be about that size in Sept.
Is 100 to 150 asking to much? .....Seems like a lot.

At ten inches? Probably O.K. them being tilapia.
If they stop feeding thin them out ASAP.
