I would be kinda leery. A lot of this stuff is regional. Our ponds, due to locations, are very different.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Two things I noticed about the book:
1. It seems to be more for lakes.
2. It does get mostly high ratings.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
