Don't know about the crappie, pond is pretty smll for them to do well.
About 90% of my fishing is with a fly rod, mn those big gills are fun on my 4wt. And a 4 or 5 lb lm on 6 or 8 wt is one of the greatest feelings in the world, I believe.
