I think I get more joy out of watching folks pull nice fish out of my pond then me catching them myself! And yes she did hold it not for long though and she needed a glove!! I set the fish on the ground quick so she could grab it and then I took the pic!! It wasn't easy for her but now way was she letting go!!! lol.. We let the fish go and it took right off fairly quick and seemed good to go so I think were ok there. Water was still cool enough for it to be ok I think! I did not measure this one but I caught a 4 lbs last year and it was right near 20 inches so I am sure you are right on with you estimate. We will be fishing for them again this weekend and going to clean one and see how they taste. I will get a weight and measurement and mouth gape as well if we catch one. Now that I am catching 1.5 pound BG and 5 lbs LMB and HSB!! They are making a mess of my stuff!! Terrible problem to have man I'll tell ya!! Looks like I have a Basspro shop day coming!! Did you keep it, or just keep catching and releasing? Do they get hook shy? If you do keep them, how do they taste? 12 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep. RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (decreasing), SMB, and HSB (only two have been seen in 5 yrs) I think that's about all I should put in my little pond. Otter attack in 2023.
