I am pretty sure catfish are eating dead animal types of detritus and not plant based detritus. If CC ate plant detritus ponds with CC would have little if any dead organic detritus. I can show anyone numerous pond with CC and lots of bottom mucky stuff. Tilapia eat a whole lot more plant based detritus compared to CC. I would never rely on CC to clean the bottom of a pond.
