I use ADMIRAL pond dye during the cooler winter months. I firmly believe in it as another pond management device. Why I have no scientific evidence to back my claim it appears to keep my water a few degrees warmer during this time of year. It also blocks out unwanted sunlight at depth that helps keep down FA in my over stocked Bioloaded ponds. I stop using it about March here in the South. This allows me to transfer more naturally back into the warmer weather green / blue in the spring bloom.
