JKB, controlling any meds is sure something to be thankful for. Pain meds are the worst. My wife is a pre op/post op nurse in Dallas, and people would be surprised at the sheer volume of addictive meds that some choose to never ween themselves from. It makes it very hard to relive any new surgical pain when your mind is already numbly floating through each and every day.
