I suspect a significant amount of a woman's weight when wearing high heels is carried on the ball of her foot, not the heel. I expect the 600 psi number for a 150 pound woman is wrong. By how much, I don't know.
I am willing to research this further and get a better number by hiring several beautiful young models for a study should anyone want to fund the project!
