If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Wow, now that's a pond, and those are amazing trout.
Not a big pond by any means. It's not needed with trout as long as you can keep the water parameters where they should be. Pond in foreground:  Another brookie from last fall:

An idea of the steep slope when the pond is mstly drained. Was trying to separate the browns from the brooks with a weighted blocking net. It was futile. They either jumped over, went under, or did both.
