I think we've got it. Mr. Monroe "You da Man!!"

This is Ronnie Bee with a 10+ pound bass. He gill hooked it and it was bleeding out. Therefore, this fish will be mounted. Otherwise, the Bee boys take a picture and release these big'uns. The largest fish this summer just under 12lbs.

I thought you all would like to see the fish.

I'm surprised no one commented on Ronnie's nice fish. Not to be deterred, here are a couple of more fishy pictures.

This is a fish caught in Mexico in 1996. She is just under 12lbs.

Looks like I blew that last one. Here we go again. A Mexican Largemouth.

This next picture is of Tommie Bee and myself. We had spent an afternoon over at a Tommy Kilroys 3-acre pond. We were supposed to be taking out fish 14 inches and under. I think one is a little over. It was a great afternoon.

No, the Mexican Bass got mounted and the stringer of bass found there way to the grease.

We had intentionally gone to Mexico to trophy fish. The locals were netting all the big bass out, so I didn't see the point of putting her back to find a net one-day.

The stringer of fish came out of an older pond owned by Tommy Bee's neighbor, Tommy Kilroy. He doesn't live on the property full time and cannot fish enough to keep the bass in check. Kilroy and Mickey Bee use the same guy out of Auburn Univ. to survey their respective waters. Kilroy was told to take out every bass under 14 inches. I think they've gone to a slot since I moved off, but that was the order of the day. Kilroy has 3 ponds: The House Pond which is approx. 3 acres, the Gator Pond which is approx. 1 acre, and the Spring Pond which is approx. 10 acres. So, being friends of his, Tommy Bee and I loved doing it for him. As I said, one of those fish was probably longer than 14 inches…..but Kilroy forgave us. That string came out of the House Pond.

Flatlander,
I have been thinking for a long time of going to catch big bass in Mexico. Do you have any information on whom to contact for a great fishing adventure?

Dodd,

Sorry for no response to your question. Busy lately. I will try to get you connected with the outfit in Mexico. It was on Lake San Lorenzo. Its 300 miles south of Brownsville near a town called Hinkal Tinkal. No kidding. It is hard to find and the last ten miles are dirt roads that take about an hour. This lake has lots of very small fish and lots of big fish. LSU stocked it back in the 80s with threadfin and bass. If you go you have a chance to catch a big fish, but you are more likely to catch lots of 8 inchers.
