Bought a house with 1/4 acre pond. There is a recirculating water fall that cascades down hill about fifteen feet into the pond. Previous owner suggested it served dual purpose of aesthetics as well as aeration. Anyone have any idea how effective such a waterfall is as an aerating system? Thanks in advance for your input.

Better than nothing, how effective it might be would depend on how much water it moves, where it pulls the water from, and how well it mixes and turns the water over in the pond. Any idea on the the volume of water being moved?
