On Friday evening my 9 year old son and I went out with worms and hooks for the first time this summer. In his first cast he pulled in this 12" bullhead. He grinned ear to ear! We caught three other like it and a dozen or so 6" ones that we fed to the cats. He was determined that we eat the big ones so we filleted them and fried they up. They did taste good.

I spent another hour fishing Saturday evening and caught ten or so small ones and tried again this evening for several hours and reeled in 8 small ones. I have no idea how many bullhead my pond may have in it but it does seem like I'm making some progress. Is it possible that the 4 big ones were the only big ones in there? Probably 3 years old?
