I see these perfectly circular holes in the bank of the pond all the time (looks like pipe was driven into ground, pulled out). These are typically 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. The above picture shows what must have been a tunnel 'clean out'. I've been assuming bull frogs doing this (which I have loads of). Can anyone confirm?

Yes they can. Google images and you will see all kinds of photos of them.

X2 on the crawdad hole (crayfish). Several species around your area...some tunneling some not. Obviously this would be of the tunneling variety.

Yep, crawdad. Bullfrog volcano had certainly piqued my interest, though.

Pour some vegetable oil on there and he'll come out. Fun for the kids!

If you walk around your pond at night with a flash lite you will sometimes see them in these holes.i very seldom see them during the day

Why did the crawdad cross the road?.... He didn't.

The EPA, emboldened by the passage of recent legislation, decided to try flexing its newfound muscle by making an example out of the crawdad. They declared his habitat a wetlands, which placed it squarely in the realm of "Waters of the United States". He was ordered to cease and desist burrowing, and forcibly evicted.

The crawdad went public with his story, appearing on talk shows, in magazine interviews, and on internet forums. Then one afternoon he was discovered, pincers down, on the asphalt.

There were witnesses of course. The 154,236,488 Gizzard Shad that resided in the 6" of water flowing through the narrow side ditch running alongside the highway, all testified that it was a black suv that stopped, opened the door and shoved the crawdad out before backing up and over his already motionless carapace.

Thus far, no one has been brought to justice, some two weeks after the incident. The 583,257,156 Gizzard Shad have gone into hiding in a private lake, somewhere in Indiana.

Bet those 583,257,156 are gonna give SpicelaneBass ALL the 22" LMB he's hoping for and they should look like beach balls. Pity the poor BG tho as small forage will soon be thin pickin.
