I'm terrible at finding stuff here on the site, but I will look. If memory serves, this was the consensus of folks who had been there and done that.

I think if HBG are stocked together with BG, they will eventually be assimilated into the general BG population. The shortage of female HBG should mean that native female BG will comprise the majority of their spawning partners. If such spawning efforts are even successful, then the resulting offspring will be roughly, 3/4 BG and 1/4 GSF. That's a very crude, and not always accurate way to look at it, but it demonstrates the possible dilution of the GSF genes with each passing generation.

If the HBG were breeding "true", then maybe it would be another story.

There's also the possibility that recruitment would be extremely low, as is sometime the case when hybrids backcross with a parental species. That would further reduce their numbers.

All of this is speculation on my part. I will see what I can find.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.
