my pump will pump 1" solids so I drilled .90"holes every six inches and built a frame out of unistrut and six inch backing material attached a harness and rope to it. Ran 2" pvc from pump out to middle of pond attached a float to it hooked a 20'intake hose to it and hooked it up to manifold. I then attached it to a cleat on back of my boat and place it in far side of pond.start pump and it sucks up muck and water,it works it's way down into the muck then I pull it 6" then let go some more.
