I officially became the first person in Iowa to "legally" stock hybrid crappie. Of course, this hybrid can and does happen naturally - so there are probably some hybrid crappies in some Iowa lakes and rivers already. But the Iowa DNR still had them on a so-called "exempt" list which required a special permit to get them. Thanks to good info from TJ on hybrid crappie which piqued my interest in stocking them, & then Rainman (a/k/a Rex) going the extra mile in bringing them to me and also dealing with govt (Iowa DNR) red tape/headaches, my 4 acre pond now has hybrid crappie swimming in it. Rainman delivered them, along with some golden shiners, to me last Tuesday evening. He did a great job of tempering the fish and treated me right on the bill. This was my first time in purchasing fish from him, and I would definitely recommend Rex to anyone thinking about purchasing fish.

I can't wait to see how they do over the coming years to come. In fact the Iowa DNR wants me to keep them posted on how they do in a pond, as they are curious themselves. So I am somewhat of a Iowa test pond site for the time being - kinda exciting I thought.

If the Iowa DNR wants an update you should make them fill out 11 forms, two applications, and pay a fee LOL. See how they like it. LOL.

Congrats Brad - I'm happy to help and glad to hear Rex came through for you. Not surprising.
