Can anyone ID this fish there are maybe 100 trapped in the base of my spillway. And I was thinking about putting them into my pond for forage. They average 3-1/2 inch long and have a neon green spot on forehead.
They certainly wouldn't hurt your pond. They make excellent forage, the question will be can they maintain a population in your pond under LMB predation... If you have a fair amount of submerged aquatic vegetation, they might, especially if LMB numbers are not overly abundant.
Thanks. I have to much vegetation in this pond. Beavers have started coming across the roar out of a cypress bay. In the last 3 years this pond has been inundated with new plants. I will be posting pics of plants soon for I'd so maybe I can get a Handel on the situation.
