Hi...I have used this site for information for years, and finally decided to join. Thanks for all the great advice over the past years! I have a 10 acre pond that is 22 years old in southwest Ohio. It is aerated and stocked with LMB, several specis of BG, Black Crappie, Walleye (restocked every 2 years), FHM, Channel cats, and Grass carp (they have been there all 22 years and are huge!). A waterfall with 300 gpm flow also recirculates the water in addition to the two aerators. My second pond is a 1/4 acre pond where I have SMB and Pumpkin seeds with monthly additions of FHM's for additional forage. The water is quite clear and the pond is clay bottom covered with 6 inches of gravel and boulder groupings provide additional cover. I use it for swimming and scuba in addition to raising the SMB. I would like some advice on planting cover for adding grass shrimp next year (if I can find a supplier...Fattig seems to have quit). I don't want the plantings to take over the pond so I can still swim in it, but I don't want too much maintenence plant-wise eithet. Any advice?
