MIA Hybrid Stripers
After a bad flood a couple years ago I thought I had lost the 100+ HSB I put in my pond. Finally I caught one, so at least one of them didn't wash over the emergency spillway that turned into a river. They were about 4" long when stocked. This explains why all my smaller golden shiners are gone.

Hi Swamp - that's a very healthy looking fish - congrats!

That nice fish looks like is has eaten lots of golden shiners. HSB usually 'hang out' in a lose school. If you feed them pellets in fairly shallow clear water you should be able to estimate how many you still have remaining. You might want to add a few if the number is low and you still have forage for them to eat.

Very nice! What did you catch this HSB on? How much did it weigh? Did you throw it back in your pond?

If I had to guess on weight I'd say four pounds or so. I caught it on a #2 Mepps silver spinner and I threw it back.

If I put those in my pond (I dearly wish to!) I would have no perch in short order, or Crappie, or... wait. Maybe I should pick a couple up!
