Thanks guys. The railings are made from small guava trees. They are an invasive tree and grow by the thousands. Worse than sweetgums if you can imagine that! But the wood is very heavy and dense. Was gonna use bamboo but decided the guava would look more natural.

They're albezia trees, native to Africa. Its a poor tree to build a treehouse in but that's the only trees around. If I can get 4 years out of it, that'll be fine with me. Retiring then and moving.
