If I have the scenario correct, you have a pond you don't want, it is an eye sore and you have to spend money to fix it up and then maintain it that you would rather not spend. Just a way out in left field idea....Donate the pond to a city, county, nature group, etc. with the stipulation that they must fix it up to your specs, fence it and the work is to be completed in a reasonable time frame. Eye sore is gone. Cost of renovating and maintaining the pond is gone. You can fish there free. You get a nice tax deduction. Edit: Heck, they will probably even name the park after you!

Bill,
Thats not a possibility. The responsibility to keep this in the family has fallen squarely on me. If I donated it to anyone I would have to find a new family to live in. Other than that, even if I wanted to, there is no municipality around here that would even take it. There isn't even a police department or fire department in this little po-dunk town.

sonofman, the other possibility if you don't have to have a pond is to drain down the pond at a rate that you don't flood anybody downhill, get an excavator to come out and cut a trench thru the dam. That will allow the overflow from your neighbors pond to continue downstream so to speak. While the excavator is there have him smooth out the dam so it's useable for pasture.
Maybe make a much smaller pond where the big one is now, just enough for your livestock water needs. You'd probably still want to have some fish in there, more for mosquito control than anything else. Fathead Minnows will live in some pretty poor quality water and will eat a lot of mosquito larvae. They won't do well if there are larger fish in there acting as predators.

The dogs are intentionally trained to kill other dogs might happen to wander onto your property? 6 of them? And, I gotta ask if you feel open to sharing...how did the episode of the 9 beagle massacre go down?

Yeah here you go.
Boerboels are an intelligent and energetic breed. They are loyal, and tend to be protective of their family and territory.
They are quite charming when not being lazy, and will not hesitate to defend their loved ones to the death.
This dog is not to be played with! They can get up to 150 pounds or more and can be very mean if not controlled.
Killing dogs that a hunter works hard with his whole life is not going to go down very nicely! And hunters have guns.... Not on either side here just saying be careful! That whole situation don't sound good!

Yikes!!! 2 options up here with dogs that are trained to kill, anything! 1) I shoot them, and you do not go to prison, call it quits. Don't press your luck 2) Well, you are in prison, and no longer have any dogs. Don't press your luck Had that happen with a neighbor in Fremont and he can no longer be in possession of a number of breeds. He used them the same way, but he had no control of his dogs once he set them loose. The county euthanized them, but he spent a year in prison for a 3rd Drunk Driving, but don't know more than that. It has been peaceful in the area, but not sure if he and his son are back. My Mom worked with this gal at work, and she had a handfull.

It won't stop the deer but will stop most hunters and dogs. I do not know any dogs that can read signs so posting the land is not probably going to stop them.

As long as someone is shooting video, who am I to cast judgment? TJ, we have some idiots up here. More than a few. One morning, I walked out the camper. Sister and I are looking at the garden on a nice day. Luna takes off like a shot to encounter a Mastiff and Rottweiler this jerk let loose. I ran like hell, barefoot, to where this was happening, and Luna was kicking some butt! 2 against one tho! I think she was really relieved to see me tho. We were buddies from the Heart. There is a huge difference between a loyal dog that you train, and is your best friend because you are their best friend, or a dog you want to use to make a mess. I sure as hell hope this dude never makes it to Michigan!

Any dogs that wander on to our place get warned that they are not welcome there.
If they act aggressive in any manner, there is a backhoe in our shed and they get a proper burial.
I remember the days dad had cattle and we had problem with roving bands of dogs killing calves. Some were wild, some were domestic that joined in on the fun. The best way to prevent things from happening is to make sure they are never given the chance to start. Most dogs are smart enough to learn. The ones that are not............... they no longer add to the gene pool.

I'm not a big fan of most dogs but I don't kill them on my property unless they attack me or mine or they are doing something bad that needs to be stopped immediately otherwise I leave them alone

I respectively invite them to leave. They almost always do. Sometimes it takes more "persuasion" than others.
Domesticated dogs are a master/servant relationship with man being the master and the dog being subservient. If the dog does not consider itself subservient to me while on my property, then to me he is no different than a wild dog. I don't have a place for wild dogs on my property.
If the dog's owner has a problem with any of that, keep their dog in a pen or otherwise off my place.
We have had bad experiences with other peoples dogs.

I have invested a lot so that I can hunt deer on my own land. I consider it extremely rude when someone lets their dog(s) run through my place when I am hunting. How come it is that those with the smallest properties seem to have the most trouble telling where their property lines are? My dog is trained and stays home. I am tired of hearing that dogs just run. That is just lazy. I have even trained Norwegian Elkhounds to stay home and obey, and it was not easy. Ok, rant over.

I am lucky I haven't had any experiences with roaming or rogue dogs - but I still live in the city. Wonder if that will change once I head out to the farm.
