ToddM T Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 227 West virginia	Since the ground froze up I thought I would take advantage and try for the first time to build some steps down to the water. I have old foundation stones and old pieces of mill stones that I can use for steps, and I have this maple tree that I saved that grew horizontal That I would try as a railing. Well, after 2 days and a dozen advil I finished. Its not perfect by any means and even with equipment its hard moving them on such a slope.

Better go find a new tree, bend and pin it down horizontally for a spare handrail in the years to come . Does the water ever get higher than that? Is this a new pond? Looks like you have a steep bank around a lot of area, how do you keep that free of trees, etc.?

I'm probably going to put golf cleats on and weed eat the steeper parts.
