I would think that this subject should be relevant enough to fit on this site? It should cut down on the learning curve and increase enjoyment of pond owners. Any thoughts?

We often discuss that type stuff in the Question & Observations or Evaluating and Adjusting Fish Populations areas. I think it would make a good stand alone section if & when the forum is reorganized.

You are correct that this is a broad enough topic to have it's own heading. Afterall, most of us have ponds for our and/or others fishing enjoyment. I know I have learned much from previous posts regarding baits, line, fishing methods, etc.
You bring up a very good point and I agree with THEO, that it should be considered as a stand alone.

I'll start by giving my two cents on slop fishing(lilies, algae mats, dense vegetation). I have devoted a good portion of my equipment and tackle to the persuit of bass and northern pike in dense cover. I use a 7 foot flipping stick, Shimano reel, and 50 lb test Power pro to haul them out. I have tried just about every type of weedless lure and have settled on the Snagproof Polywog. It doesn't stand up to the pike very well, but they last a while if only bass are caught. Any other favorites out there?

I love bumping stumps and rock with crankbaits.
Crome and blue wiggle "0"s and subwarts in any color are tops for me.

Spinnerbaits and worms. I love lily pad fishing. However, it can be bad for your heart.

Favorite this week is an X-Rap slashbait fished with a 6.5' Shimano baitcaster, 15lb test. I vote YES on a seperate section if we're taking a poll.

I saw this idea a while back and thought it was a good one, then I thought, there are many fishing forums, many of which are fish specific. So my vote (opinion) is keep it the way it is. Plus I don't know a zoom frog from a X rap slashbait, my ignorance I know, and if I ever have a pond that produces fish that require 50lb test line I will die and go to heaven a happy man.
