Is that how much weight you lost or the current temperature? Kidding...I lost 98 pounds the first of the year and your body will thank you in the years to come, keep it up.

John, credit where credit is due. Luck has less to do with it than determination.

When does the 'Brain Aerobics' start???

I think a really low amp 120VAC electrical massage does wonders to exorcize the brain and CNS. Just don't over do it A guy at work last week was fixing a homeowners DIY electrical project, and trust me, this was really bad! Anyway, he touches this external mounted wire molding and get's a pretty good jolt. Goes in the box and drops the breaker. Opens up the raceway (molding) and they are using a bare wire for neutral in a metallic raceway and no ground. Asked him how he felt after the poke? Said he felt great!, just didn't know if his number was being called at the moment

Back at it again after a few months off during summer. I gained 5 pounds during summer which I attribute to beer consumption and a more relaxed eating regimen. I want to drop 30 more this off season.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dwight, I respect your change. Only 8 years ago I was 305 lbs. I dropped down to 220 lbs going with pretty much an all fat diet. I also lowered my cholesterol, tri's, blood pressure all to mid normal ranges. I usually hit the elliptical in Jan through April. Right now I'm at 230 lbs and would like to get to 200 lbs. I'm 6'2" and 49 years old. My weight has always been a problem since college.
When you work your entire High School and College periods to gain weight for football, and then it's over, weight loss and maintenance can be real tough. 275 lbs looks real different when you spend 5000 to 6000 calories on a typical day working out and lifting at 20 years old. Even getting to 240 lbs, at this age, gets my key blood indicators to near diabetic levels without the activity level I once had.
I wish you well on your journey, it's a tough one for me. Constant vigilance and sacrifice at the table are all I know now.
I just got a new pond, I made it twice because I aint so bright.

Tim, you dropped 85 pounds on an all fat diet?

Yes, I wondered about that statement also, Guv.
My wife made an awesome brisket on Monday, and the first piece she cut off for me was all fat (she didn't know that). It was heaven. Full of flavor!!!

Tim, you dropped 85 pounds on an all fat diet? And some protein. I stayed under 20 carbs a day, no sugar, no alcohol. My problem is always those hot summer days which DEMAND any good IPA beer. Mostly went like this; Breakfast- 1/2 pound bacon or sausage with 2 or three eggs. Lunch- Crab leg, shrimp, burger patties with cheddar cheese, blah blah Dinner- Prime Rib, Crab leg, barbecue ribs made with splenda or stevia instead of sugar in the sauce, green beans, burger patties, shrimp stir fry, new york strip, filet mignon, lobster. It gets a bit boring but I can eat all I want, no limits. Your body goes into ketosis and just burns up the fat you have stored. When I get bored of this I'll switch for a few weeks and go 2000 calorie straight diet and then switch back after a while. An all fat and protein diet is very expensive to be on and about triples your individual grocery bill but you have to suffer to get what you want Seriously, high cholesterol, what's that? High blood pressure, what's that? It just pizzes off the doctors when I go in for check ups and they ask how my levels are so low. My main doctor is a bit, shall we say "normal". When I told him what I did, he told me that's exactly what he does.

For me, the only downside to losing a lot of weight was also losing all my clothes. I'm pretty tight. I just keep adding new holes in my belt.

I'm fortunate in that I have never struggled in this regard. I'm just shy of 6', and never been over 160 lbs. I still have the 33" waist I had when I graduated high school, 31 years ago. I don't eat what I would consider healthy, so I suppose it's due to activity. If I ever slow down I'm probably in trouble.
"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

I noticed that a lot of people were having success with the nutrient dense Paleo diet, so I gave it a try, and have since benefited greatly. At first it seems daunting to give up grains, legumes, sugar, dairy and whatnot, but after just a few days the positive results (including the anti-inflammatory benefits) make the diet very desirable. I can eat as much as I want, but I seldom feel hungry. You can eat as much lean meat as you want, but I prefer my Paleo diet to be vegetable centric, only eating meat a few times a week. With the help of minimal exercise (15 minutes every other day) I dropped 40 pounds in about 12 weeks. I even lost my belly fat! That was about 6 months ago. At 53, I'm currently maintaining a svelte 5'11" 160 pound, lean, mean, muscle bound machine. At this rate I'm thinking of trying out for "American Ninja Warrior" in the near future.

When the doc said the nurse interpreted my high potassium levels incorrectly due to additions they use in the tests, he said live it up on your foods. I weigh pretty close to what I was at 17 when I got out of HS. I'm glad that was a screw up because I use to drink (2) 12oz V8 juices pretty much every morning. Tried one last week and the sodium content really took the peace out of things.
