Growing nice YP does not require cement rock lined shorelines but it does help as habitat for some of the forage species. Rock lined shorelines are good to have on the down wind side to reduce wind erosion of the shoreline.
Numbers to stock will depend on natural fertility of the soil area, resulting pond fertility (watershed), and or if the YP or some of the predator fish are fed pellets. A medium stocking density of YP is 300-500/ac if YP are to be the main or only panfish.
