I guess it is a small world, welcome aboard newest member, I never thought PondBoss would have two Alberta members. The reason you cannot find perch suppliers is because it is illegal to stock them here. You will require an aquaculture license from the Gov't and are limited to the following species, Rainbow, brook, brown and tiger trout as well as Artic Char and triploid grass carp, that's it. I built my pond a few years ago. My place is near Lac Ste Anne. It's currently stocked with rainbows.
If you need any help with the permits, paperwork etc, I can post the links to everything you will need to get started. I've done a lot of research and some trial and error also, I can share some info on what has worked for me.
I suggest you take some time and use the search function on this site, tons of good info from the members here, a good bunch of people with a wealth of knowledge.
