Think of building the cage frame, making a "bag" with the mesh and putting it inside the framework. Mine have internal frames and used black zip ties. I also use 2 "T's" on one side of the frame to be used as a hinge for the lid. Say 1" x 1/2" "T". Slip the 1" end over the frame, tie on the mesh. Make the lid from 1/2" PVC, and use deer netting or bird netting on the lid to keep out GBH, etc. Tie a rope to the lid top. Flip it completely open and let it flop in the pond to work inside the cage.
