I was gone for about 10 days and came home to find areas of pea soup floating in my pond. It looks like floating FA but there is no substance to the colored areas. It just moves around sometimes in a blob and sometimes it looks like wind swept green clouds. I know it is some form of algae but how do I get rid of it

Can you post a pic? Likely planktonic algae (plankton bloom). The base of the food chain.

Pic attached. Sometimes the area is maybe 3ft by 6ft then other times it spreads out is a stringy fashion and will cover an area 3ft by maybe 50 feet.

Seen that same type thing a number of times in my ponds. We usually get enough wind it stays mixed up, but if it is still enough will sometimes show up just like in your picture.
