Thanks Theo for the info. I'm looking at stocking 300 BG per acre, 200 Redear per acre, and somewhere around 20lbs. of fathead minnows per acre in the next few weeks. Then in Sept/Oct i'm looking at stocking about 75 smallmouth bass per acre and 25 largemouth per acre.
I have hundreds and hundreds of large boulders and numerous smaller boulders along one side of the pond along with several pea gravel spawning beds in hopes that the habitat will encourage smallmouth survival. Probably a pipe dream though

I've read the articles in Pond Boss about largemouth taking over eventually.
I'm looking at getting my fish from Fenders Fish Hatchery outside of Coshocton.
As far as what type of fishery I want from my pond, I would like to have a nice ballance between big smallmouth and big largemouth. The kind of pond where you never know what you might get on any particular cast. Might even add 20-25 wipers based on what Bill Cody said about them and how they fight.
I've thought about stocking yellow pearch, but not sure if they would mess up the predator/prey balance.
How are you managing your pond?
