Thanks for the reply. I bought a water test kit, tested for nitrite and came up with 0 ppm MG/L. While that may have been a waste of 24 dollars, it does make me feel a little better. Funny thing, I went down to the same spot on the pond at 7:30 and it looked the same but there was no smell. Walked by the same spot at 8:45 and the smell was there again. There is also a lot more film (almost oily looking without the colors) on that end of the pond. Sign me perplexed. All I know about ponds is what I have learned here so I am on a sharp learning curve.
