Once again, a thread here on the forum has caused me to search my bookshelves for another masterpiece by Patrick McManus.....

The story is entitled "Share and Share Alike", and it can be found in the absolutely brilliant and excruciatingly funny collection containing some of his best work: "Never Sniff a Gift Fish"

It deals with elk hunting, and the difficulties associated with retrieving the downed animal. Priceless stuff.
