Hello all,
I found this site looking for info on fisheries close by. Lots of good information and I think it is a great site. My ponds are a hobby started out of necessity. When I bought my property and moved here 9 years ago it was a muddy MESS! The previous owners had raised cattle allowing them in the creek. It was dead and a serious run off problem. I have spent hours building berms, directing the runoff to filter through the fields and cleaning out the manure. I had the state folks here after a few years to get permission to dig a separate pond and even though I had done things I should have discussed with them first I was complimented and they even sent me a nice letter. In all honesty moving here to the country from a populated area I thought I would have more freedom. Long story maybe for another post. I very much appreciate all the good info I have gotten already. I felt I needed to join. My projects are ongoing and I will post pictures as soon as I learn how. My Grandson, Son, Daughter and I go fishing and then stock our ponds. So far so good as 2 weeks ago I wanted to grill a trout and the one I caught was 12 1/2 pound Rainbow.
Good eating cooked on the grill and big fun catching that big girl. Full of eggs.
Thank you all for your help.
