Bill, what do you think about the removal of large bass? I would have guessed that leaving those big ones in would have been advantageous--a six+ pound LMB isn't going to eat many FHMs, and might be pretty effective crappie predator, if one was shooting for trophy crappie. I would have thought one might aggressively cull the smaller bass, which would be less effective crappie predators, and compete for FHM with crappie.


The larger the LMB the larger BCP that they can eat. By having a lot of little LMB in there, he's reducing the amount of small BCP, and anything that can escape predation has a LOT of food to eat. The suviving BCP will grow to a large size quickly, especially with the minnows in there.

If he had the room and the time, I think the forage pond is a great idea.
