Just over a week after Lincoln recorded its warmest temperature so early in spring -- 98 degrees on May 7 -- the record book was rewritten in another column.
With Friday morning's low dipping to 30 degrees, the Lincoln Airport set a record for the coldest temperature this late in the spring.
The previous mark for May 16 was 31 set in 1940. The normal low for mid-May is around 50.
Friday morning's low will also go down as the latest freeze in Lincoln since 1947, when temperatures dipped to 32 on May 29.
We had a decent frost this morning.
