Spent much of last weekend sitting with my parents by the pond, watching and feeding the rainbows that have been in over a month now. It surprises me how much insect life emerges from the pond every day. That, along with the pellets, has turned the 'bows into chunky little rockets! There are a couple pairs of Baltimore orioles that have made their home around the pond and if you sit quietly there you may have deer , turkey , mink , coyote , fox or any number of different birds show up. The flow for this pond has slowed down pretty good a couple times this spring- so far it appears that the same amount of water coming in is going out the outlet pipe. I'll know for sure if the leaking has stopped once the slower flow of August comes but it looks pretty good from what I've seen lately. It's hard to explain how much even a small pond such as this adds to the enjoyment of a piece of property... we are just loving it!
