Kelly, really cool hidden copperhead pic. They do have the perfect camo pattern for dead leaves. When they sense someone approaching they coil up and freeze, they do not move or make a sound. They are not aggressive at all, until you step within striking distance. I suspect most all copperhead bites are from accidentally stepping on them or people messing with them.
I am glad we dont have rattlers or cottonmouths here. At least if a copperhead bites you, its probably not going to kill you. But you are going to have a bad day.
I have 2 pairs of snakeboots. Cant afford to step on a copperhead 800 yards from my truck.
