I have a small pond that lost a lot of natural cover due to the drought. I am planning to add structure like pallets and trees. Are the pallets mainly for baitfish? I know of PVC trees but would cutting down trees to make a brush pile work?

Srj79, welcome to PBF. You have some good questions and they will be addressed by the great people on this site. However, you need to learn how to follow the threads of subjects stored here. Just tap on Forums at the top of the page, select a subject and follow it for several pages. After you get the hang of it you will be searching out all of the comments that you are concerned about. Make no mistake about it, there are some real experts here as well as many self taught pondmeisters that are equally qualified to guide you.

For some homework read through the information in this thread about structure and placement in the pond. There is a lot to see and read. It should answer most of your questions. New questions just come back and ask. We will be glad to provide some opinions.

Tons of info there, thank you! One question, will willow trees grow in the water? 2-3 feet or do they have to be out of the water some?
