Last year I bought a 2inch "clear water" 212cc trash pump from harbor frieght. I have beat the living out of it i fact yester day was the first time I clogged the impeller and I have been tough on it. I noticed there there 3 inch full trash pump has the same motor and bolt up as there 2 inch both cast iron impeller and impeller housing. I know I could switch the entire bell to make it a 3inch but I already have the intake hose 70$ . I was thinking of porting the internal ports larger kind of like you would do with a cars exhaust manifold . Any ideas on this project ?

You could switch the whole thing over and just buy a 2" to 3" adapter.....

I just don't think the gains would be worth the effort of P&P the internals, even if you could do it easily.

I am willing to bet that the 2" moves just as much as the 3" just with more velocity if the motor and impeller are the same.
Cheers Don.
