Neat article about nicknames that stick... Yooper is official! I'm curious if other nicknames are already in the dictionary and how much of a fight there was to finally get it included? (Sooners?, Cheeseheads? What would nickname be for other states like MN, OH, PA, etc?)

Looks like Indiana already is in the dictionary  Hoo�sier noun \ˈh�-zhər\ : a native or resident of Indiana �used as a nickname � Hoosier adjective

Now I just wonder if they'll add "troll." Those who live in the lower peninsula are often referred to trolls since they live below the bridge.
Based on this great news I may just have to break out some of my Yooper's albums to impress my friends.

Illinois has a nickname too, per my Wisconsin cousins... FIB's.. Might have to look it up on urban dictionary though..

I know a retired school teacher and taxidermist in West Virginia that uses the word "Hoopies" to describe his fellow West Virginians.

I believe New Hampshire residents call Massachusetts residents Mass*oles. Kind of funny as a lot of people in that state are Massachusetts transplants.
