I was thinking about adding structure for trout. I have noticed that rainbow trout don't really quit moving in a lake environment. So I was thinking of making a set of structure in a big circle or oval shape. Kind of like a 200 foot merry go round for trout to swim along. It would be in the 6-10 foot depth as I find that seems to be the best for catching trout under the ice.

Rainbow trout are a pelagic species for the most part. Not sure I'd go to the effort if it was me.

blair5002, are you talking about a pond? I'm agreeing with Cecil or try one of those pools that "have the air ring" on top. They come with a filter and pump to help circulate water (just a test before you get in to deep).

I am talking about placing structure to attract trout to an area in my lake. It is almost void of structure and I would like to concentrate them in a convenient spot to fish. It seems when I fish for them they are always cruising and never stay still so I thought a ring of structure like PVC trees or tires in a 100 foot diameter circle would keep them cruising around. I placed a rock pile and then a strip of 18" rocks about 5 feet apart but it doesn't seem to attract them much. I always see them cruising just off the bottom.

I have no problem catching the trout where the feeder is. It's not structure, but definitely gets them to a singular spot at defined times. Perhaps change your line of thought from "structure to feed" to work it into your goals.

Edit.. where I feed, there is a deep trench cut into the ground. I will say, that of all the areas around the feeder, the RBT are in favor of that one spot.
