I have an established pond in NW Florida that, necessary or not, I'm trying to add several new species to. It has LMB and BG now and I'm trying to broaden the forage for the predator class fish.

I've been collecting various minnow species and once the water warms up, I aim to introduce them to the pond. Has anyone ever put up a plastic mesh fence along a portion of a lake to keep out the predators? I'm especially interested in the GSH fry I have coming in the next few weeks since I paid real money for them.

I was thinking some 1/4" mesh and some t-posts for a quick and sturdy fence along a portion of the shore. Ultimately good habitat would be great but the water level has been in constant flux over the past year.

I could even build a semi permanent PVC cube that's wrapped in the mesh to offer a safe haven. Or a cube in a cube with increasing mesh hole size.

Thoughts?
