Yeesh. All I know is that I had at least 12 inches of ice on both ponds just a few days ago. We had a couple of feet of snow on the ground.
I buried my 4WD tractor, above both axles, in mud when I was trying to open my driveway ditches two days ago. My driveway is a lot like a half mile of tomato soup, 12 inches deep.
But,it got close to 70 today. My main pond lost much of its ice. The other pond is still pretty frozen.
I have two cages at the end of the dock on my main pond. I was able to pull one of them up this evening. I think I'm going to name it the "Donner Party" cage. Before everything froze over, way too early last fall, the cage had some really nice bass, crappie, and bluegill. It now only has about a dozen fat bluegill.
