I really have no clue how the state can say they have any regulatory power over fish that you purchased or were born in your pond and have never left it.

I can understand owning a portion of a river and the state having say as to what you do with the fish in the portion you own as those fish can come and go as they please. A pond or lake is very different.

Fortunately, VA doesn't require one to have a fishing license to fish their own or family property nor do rules govern private ponds. PA is not that way though, as you need a fishing license to fish any private pond and state regulations are enforced on them as well. I'd love to hear their argument as to why state regs should be enforced on a private pond and why one should need to buy a fishing license to fish their own private pond.

It may be one of those things where if they really pushed it in court the state would lose, but as long as the states says so people abide?

We have a prime fishing spot on Lake Michigan (Burns Ditch) over here closed to fishing due to alleged Homeland Security issues. I think it's all B.S.

Anglers still fish it but three potential state records have been denied there (Walleye and Brown Trout) because officially they aren't supposed to fish there.

Glad that's law in IN cause it is on Bob-Os land. That includes removal of unwanted or disliked critters and neighbors. The disliked neighbors are well aware of said policy.

I've heard frozen paintballs or birdshot in the buttocks works quite well.

The latter worked pretty well on a kid in high school that carried a pillow everywhere he went. Apparently the guy that owned the watermellon patch thought he needed some motivation.

I have a 22 that I bought in 66 and now has a 3X9 scope. With a steady rest I can shoot acorns out of a 100' tree. That is reserved for four legged vermin and anything that slithers. Other methods are best experienced, funny how word can travel faster than lead.
