Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations new pond

I have a month old pond no vegetation around the pond but waters a little brown or muddy its been full for about a month. Should I let nature clear it up or use something to clear it up its about an acre and a half.

I would try to prevent erosion around the pond. This can be a challenge this time of year as it is too cold to get vegetation to grow. Rye or wheat are good cover crops until more longer lasting vegetation can be established. Since you cannot get plants growing right now, laying down a manual barrier may help.

Collect some of your muddy water into a clear jar and let it sit for a few days. If it clears on its own, then I wouldn't worry and let it clear up on its own. If it doesn't clear up on its own, then we can look into options for clearing it up...

I will have to try the glass thing u r right its to cold for anything to grow but icicle s lol ifs its below 50 im staying inside fat boy dont like cold .

brian, take CJBS advice... Odds are you won't go wrong . I had the same problems with my pond also (takes the water a while to settle down).

Well I going to do the glass thing. And get back to u guys on the test result s plus I still got to dig the bowl out more I finished the dam and 3 days later she was full. I thank you for the support too I need all I can get its my first one so I know it wont be the best lol
