What a great idea! I would be happy to have some people out to my modest place for some fly fishing lessons. I have never tried to teach anyone before though, I would hate to frustrate people with an inability to communicate what I mean adequately. But, for anyone near west central Missouri that wants to give it a whirl, give me a shout. I have good places to practice about 200 yards from the pond and a few fly rods all set up and waiting.

I will check out the "Lessons with Lefty" vids. I have a book written by Lefty about great fly fishing destination, very well written, if the videos are half as good, they will be great.

CMM, it's a great deal of fun to have a group lesson. I might check around and see if you have a local fly fishing group that has teaching days, or can come out to help a group at your place. With all the fly fishing opportunities you have in MO, I bet you do. Guy's like that love to help, and can really speed up the learning curve.

For example, I took a double haul class with FFF Certified Casting Instructor Rex Walker last year at Lake Texoma. Although it was primarily aimed at the double haul, he showed us some great basic backyard practice techniques that really cleared things up. I still start out every practice with what I learned from him.
