When we got several inches snow last week, and the temperature dropped down to about 0 F/-20 C, I wanted to use my diesel tractor to plow the snow. It didn't want to start. Even the glow-plug light was dim.
I got my trusty old battery booster out. It had never before failed me in about the 12 years I've had it. I guess that is about the maximum life of a battery booster. So, I now have a new battery in the tractor and a new battery booster.
In about two days, we'll be about 60 F degrees warmer than we were two days ago.
It got to about +25 F/-5C here today. I took a chance and jacked up the tongue of my frozen-to-the ground trailer, backed my UTV to it, unjacked it as far as I could, and pulled the trailer out. The tires stayed on the rims and the jack broke free of the icy ground.
Now it is time to go unload the trailer I've got loaded with "stuff."
