Nothing makes fa stick to the pipe. It just wraps itself around it, once you get it started its more of a tension thing that holds it on and in place. And as you take it out of the pond the twisting actually wrings the water out.
One quick thing you can try, go get the radio antenna off your truck put it in your drill. And try it out...it might not came off as easily becuz of the ball at the end. But its worth a shot!
